A - We are open Monday - Friday 9:00a - 6:00p and on Saturdays 9:00a - 3:00p.

Q - What is your preferred method of payment?
A - We accept a variety of payment methods, including wire transfer, cash, traveler's checks, certified checks, money orders and credit cards (up to a $1,000.00max). for a non refundable deposit

Q - Is it possible to put a bus on hold? If so, how do I go about doing that?
A - Yes. Interstate Bus Sales, Inc does have a policy for taking deposits in order to put bus(es) on hold. All deposits are non refundable.

Q - Do used buses come with warranties?
A - No. Used buses are sold as-is with no warranty, unless the manufacturer warranty remains.

Q - Do you deliver?
A - Yes Interstate Bus Sales, Inc does deliver used buses, for a fee to be determined at sale, however, there are several independent drive away companies that will transport anywhere in the USA.

Q - Do you offer temporary tags to drive the bus away?
A - Yes. For all customers Interstate Bus Sales, Inc we offer a 20 day drive away tag Texas buyer have 20 days to change title and apply for plates during that time.

Q - Do you charge sales tax?
A - Yes. Interstate Bus Sales, Inc charges 6.25% Sales tax to all Texas buyers.

A - No Interstate Bus Sales, Inc does not ship used buses; however, we can place you in contact with shipping companies that will ship world-wide.

Q - May I bring a mechanic to inspect the bus?
A - Yes. Interstate Bus Sales, Inc will allow a mechanic to inspect the bus; however, due to insurance regulations we will not allow your mechanic to do any work on our premises.

Q - Do I need a CDL to drive a bus?
A - If a bus has a GVW of 26000 or more, air brakes or has a manufactured rated capacity of 16 passenger or more, than a CDL drivers license with passenger endorsement is required. Also if the bus is equipped with air brakes, you must have an air brakes endorsement on your CDL. These are DOT requirements.

Q - What do the different classes A. B. C. D. of buses mean?
A -

Type A school bus: consists of a bus body constructed upon a cutaway front-section vehicle with a left side drivers door, designed for carrying more than 10 persons. This definition includes two classifications: type A-1 with a Gross Vehicle Weight(GVWR) of 10,000 pounds or less, and a type A-2 with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or more. Type A school buses meet all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for school buses.

Type B school bus: consist of a bus body constructed and installed upon a front-section vehicle chassis, or stripped chassis, with a gross vehicle weight ratingof more than 10,000 pounds, designed for carrying more than 10 persons. Part of the engine is beneath and/or behind the windshield and beside the drivers seat. The entrance door is behind the front wheels. Type B vehicles meet all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for school buses.

Type C school bus: Also known as a "conventional," is a body installed upon a flat-back cowl chassis with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 10,000 pounds, designed for carrying more than 10 persons. The engine is in front of the windshield and the entrance door is behind the front wheels. Type C school buses meet all Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for school buses.

Type D school bus: Also known as a transit -style, is a body installed upon a chassis, with the engine mounted in the front, midship, or rear with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 10,000 pounds, and designed for carring more than 10 persons. The engine may be behind the windshield and beside the driver's seat, it may be at the rear of the bus, behind the rear wheels, or midship between the front and rear axles. The entrance door is ahead of the front wheels. Type D school buses meet all Federal Vehicle Motor Safety Standards for school buses. Type D buses are referred to as FE-- Engine in the front, or RE-- Engine in the rear.

Q - Do you lease buses to Refineries, Schools, or Individual companies?
A - Yes, each lease is determined by the need of the company wishing to lease. Leases may be for 1 week to 1 year.

We buy used buses including school buses from school districts. We buy all sizes and shapes in any condition - running or not or mail to Po Box 2194 Winnie, TX 77665

Interstate Bus Sales, Inc. purchases used buses from all over North America and we transport them to our facility in Winnie, Texas. Once the buses are here, we completely inspect them and bring them up to our standards for operation or the buses are parted out at our truck salvage facility and the parts are sold around the world.
